Enjoyed it very much. The author made it feel like I was outdoors with the president in the wilderness. A good enjoyable read.
This is a fun book about camping with Roosevelt. The style is outdated (of course it was written a long time ago) but still has some good stories and observations about Teddy Roosevelt.

I randomly found this book among my suggested reads and thoroughly enjoyed it! An inside look of how President Roosevelt interacted with common people, appreciated the outdoors, and loved adventure. A quick, pleasant read!
Can be read in one afternoon. Covers Theodore Roosevelt's big camping trip out west and the semi-adventure that was achieved. The curious thing is that he walked around with Secret Service personnel or military personnel for the majority of the trip. It's interesting to pick up this story and look at modern-day situations. Worth reading, and I'd suggest it for a 10th grade history class as a short read to understand the life and times of "Teddy".
Written by a close friend of President Roosevelt, this book gives you a look at the real man, the way he thought, the love of the outdoors, and the love of people who lived in the outdoors. If you appreciate the Wilderness in American, the Parks and mountains, then you will enjoy a book about the man who helped make them possible. has made many of these books about Roosevelt available and this is one of the best. See Yellowstone before it became what it is today, and enjoy it with the President.
